Airport Link and Northern Busway given the nod

The Airport Link and Northern Busway (ALNB) project has approval to proceed. This project includes three main aspects:

Airport Link
A mainly underground toll road planned between Brisbane’s northern suburbs, the airport and the inner city.

Northern Busway
Connecting the Inner Northern Busway to Bracken Ridge via Windsor, Lutwyche (pictured below), Kedron, Chermside and Aspley.


Airport Roundabout Upgrade
Improvements to the existing roundabout, including a four-lane fly-over (East/West), roundabout replaced by signalised intersections, road and lane widening.


Construction for the ALNB project is set to begin late in 2008, with a completion date of 2012. The works are an important link to the North South Bypass Tunnel (NSBT) and the Gateway Motorway Upgrade (GUP) project.
