Spread your Risk!


When growing your property portfolio, traditional methods are quite different to more modern strategies... and for good reason!!

The more traditional method of growing a property portfolio involved buying as many houses as possible in the street you lived in. This was mostly due to market familiarity and ease of managing the property.

The problem is that capital growth is not consistent between suburbs. Suburbs can surge ahead, yet others can be left behind. If all properties in your portfolio are in a slow-moving suburb, your ability to grow your portfolio also comes to a halt.

Diversity is the answer, however, this is not the only area you should consider diversifying your risk. Consider different types of property, from units to houses. This offers a protection from yet another risk and can help ensure you keep momentum when demand shifts between the different types of property.
